We were delighted with our stay in your hotel and the quality of the welcome we received. Your staff were very helpful and allowed us to retrieve our rental car which was stuck on the median of the road in Punta Maddalena due to the heavy rain. Due to Hurricane Apollo we extended our stay by 2 days in your hotel. Unfortunately the Villa Carlotta where we were to stay in Taormina refused to make a commercial gesture and charged us for the nights of 29 and 30 October. We are going to make use of our insurance and would need a certificate from you for the case of force majeure that we suffered and the impossibility where we were to go to Taormina because of the floods and the immobilization of our vehicle. We did not stay at this accommodation but we found a room at the 4* Villafranca hotel in Palermo. The Dimora del Genio was in a very bad part of town and was very dark in the stairwell. No lift, the appartment itself looked fine but the bedrooms were not good ...think student accommodation! It is not the sort of accommodation I am used to, the web site did not marry up to the actual experience. Partly our fault we should never have booked it.
