Luxury hotels and resorts

we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and thought that the hotel was one of the best on the island. we had never been to Panarea before and did not know where to begin as far as where to stay. What made our choice easier was the professional guidance of the icastelli set-up(ie., booking ease and confirmation assurance) and after a day there we invetsigated other choices and came away knowing we made the best choice that was available at the time. The location, the style, the cleanliness and the extremely helpful and friendly staff also made it very enjoyable. The only criticism would be the low lights in the bedrooms so that you do not even have a choice in case you want to read and our room had no outdoor sitting spot for reading either. In the case of rainy or cloudy weather we had difficulty deciding where to just hang out. Otherwise we were extremely happy and look forward to returning sometime.

Excellent hotel. Lovely set up with good facilities. The room was lovely and breakfast was superb with lots of options for pastries and cooked items. The staff were lovely and could not have been more helpful with queries.There were a couple of things which could have made the stay even better. 1. The pool got v crowded with young families and it felt as though the hotel needed a second, adult only pool which would have allowed couples without children to relax without interruption. 2. The restaurant was good for dinner but v formal with 3 tasting menus and a v formal a la carte menu. It felt as though it would have been appropriate to have lighter/ less formal options on the menu too. It would have encouraged us to eat at the restaurant for dinner more than once over the week. 3. For a hotel focused on being 'Eco', it would have been appropriate to have water refilling stations to encourage the use of reusable water bottles. Instead, guests were forced to buy bottled water. It did not seem aligned to their mission statement. 4. The gym was v small and needs to be expanded and improved to offer more cardio and weights options.

Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de réelle plage (3m linéaire de sable pour rentrer dans l'eau) et que le restaurant soit un peu cher pour les plats proposés. Très belle vue sur le chateau (pour les chambres avec vue) qui n'est malheureusement pas éclairé le soir...
